Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for IBM Instana Certified Professionals. The role involves implementing and configuring IBM Instana for application performance monitoring and observability across client environments. Responsibilities include setting up instrumentation, defining monitoring dashboards, configuring alerts, and optimizing traces and metrics to identify performance bottlenecks. The professional will work with development, operations, and support teams to analyze incidents, improve system reliability, and document monitoring standards and best practices. The role also includes supporting upgrades, troubleshooting Instana-related issues, and providing guidance on using Instana insights to enhance application health and user experience.
Qualifications
- IBM Instana certification and hands-on experience with Instana deployment, configuration, and administration.
- Strong understanding of application performance monitoring, observability concepts, and distributed systems.
- Experience working with microservices, containers, and cloud or hybrid environments (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, major cloud platforms).
- Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and traces to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend improvements.
- Proficiency in collaborating with cross-functional teams including developers, DevOps engineers, and support staff.
- Solid documentation skills for creating guides, runbooks, and monitoring standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Willingness to learn new tools and technologies in the observability and performance monitoring domain.
