Position 1: Research Intern – Platform for AI Summer Internship Program is one of the major activities under the University Relation Program. IBM Research India offers Summer Internship to the bright students of leading technical Universities in India. During internship students work on current projects happening in the lab, they solve problems with the help of their mentors. Role and Responsibilities We are looking for a talented and highly motivated engineer/scientist to help advance our effort on creating the most efficient large language models, with a specific focus on creating value for Enterprises. The candidate will be responsible for training, finetuning and inference of language models, developing prototype solutions to real-world problems, working closely with IBM Infrastructure teams, and IBM scientists in a flexible and fun environment. Good programming and hands on experience in python Familiarity with Cloud technologies (containerization, kubernetes) Exposure to different model types like Dense, MoE, Mamba and multimodal models. Experience with Pytorch and FSDP Exposure to tuning and GPU optimization Experience with internals of training stacks Exposure to different tuning techniques including SFT, LoRA, RL. Position 5: Intern for Automation SRE Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) professionals are engineers who specialize in reliability and resiliency with the right mix of knowledge and skills in software and systems, responsible to analyze business needs, problem determination, advise & design, build, test, deploy, changes and maintenance of a well-engineered information system and ecosystems. We're seeking skilled, automation-focused interns to maintain and administer the PowerVS Cloud Infrastructure-as-a-Service environment and provide reliable and secure offering to clients. Roles and responsibilities Designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining automation scripts for various procedures and runbooks used in PowerVS Data Center builds, operations, and support activities. Creating and maintaining automated solutions for data collection, log processing, infrastructure monitoring, and backup/restore of essential configuration and log data across PowerVS Data Centers. Building automation to eliminate repetitive manual work using technologies such as shell scripting (bash), Python, Ansible, and other related tools. Developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining automation to manage code stack updates for infrastructure components (VIOS, firmware, PowerVC, HMC, Novalink, NIM servers) and supporting cloud systems (jump servers, sobox, network nodes, gateways, TSM servers).
