About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate IBDP / IGCSE Humanities Teacher specializing in History and Geography for the Secondary School division.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience teaching within IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) and/or Cambridge IGCSE frameworks, with expertise in inquiry-based and concept-driven learning methodologies. Candidates from international schools, expat educators, or returning Indian educators are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons aligned with IGCSE and IBDP curriculum frameworks
- Teach History and/or Geography at Secondary level
- Design inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, and concept-driven learning experiences
- Develop lesson plans, assessments, projects, and learning materials aligned with international standards
- Differentiate instruction to support diverse learning needs
- Assess student performance using formative and summative assessment strategies
- Maintain student progress records, reports, and academic documentation
- Support students in critical thinking, research, and independent learning
- Collaborate with coordinators, subject teams, librarians, and student support teams
- Participate in curriculum planning, school events, and co-curricular activities
- Act as Homeroom Advisor/Pastoral Mentor where required
- Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Contribute to whole-school initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Mandatory Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant subject area with B.Ed. or equivalent teaching qualification
- Master’s degree in History, Geography, Education, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in IGCSE and/or IBDP programs
- Strong classroom management and lesson planning experience
- Experience teaching Humanities, History, or Geography at Secondary level
- Strong understanding of IB philosophy and Cambridge curriculum frameworks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications - IB or Cambridge curriculum certifications/training
- Experience as IBDP or Cambridge Examiner
- Experience with:
- TOK
- CAS
- Extended Essay
- Internal Assessments
- Exposure to international school environments
- Experience with differentiated instruction and technology-enabled learning
- Participation in accreditation, authorization, or curriculum development initiatives
- Mentoring or leadership experience within teaching teams
