About the role - The Primary Homeroom Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, engaging and inclusive classroom environment where every student is supported to flourish as a confident, curious and compassionate learner. Grounded in the school’s mission, vision and values, and guided by the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Homeroom Teacher designs and delivers high-quality, inquiry-based learning that nurtures the whole child, academically, socially and emotionally. As a mentor and role model, the Homeroom Teacher works collaboratively with colleagues, parents and the wider community to ensure student learning and well-being, while fostering lifelong learning and international-mindedness.
Roles and Responsibility -
- Teaching and Learning
- Design and deliver interdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with curriculum frameworks.
- Use varied teaching strategies, differentiation, and scaffolding for diverse learners.
- Embed Approaches to Learning skills and values in daily practice.
- Integrate literacy and numeracy across the curriculum.
- Incorporate technology for creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Provide experiential and service learning opportunities.
- Assessment and Reporting
- Use formative, summative, and self-assessment to guide teaching and student growth.
- Maintain accurate student progress records and contribute to data analysis.
- Prepare and share reports and portfolios highlighting strengths and next steps.
- Provide constructive feedback fostering reflection and student agency.
- Collaboration and Growth
- Work with colleagues to plan, deliver, and reflect on learning experiences.
- Participate in professional learning communities and staff meetings.
- Engage in ongoing professional development and IB-related training.
