Role Description The Hygiene Manager at Crowne Plaza Kochi is a full-time, on-site role based in Kochi, responsible for overseeing hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards across the hotel. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring hygiene policies and procedures in accordance with local regulations, brand standards, and international best practices. Day-to-day tasks include conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house spaces; supervising cleaning protocols; and ensuring proper use of chemicals and equipment. The Hygiene Manager will coordinate with housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering, and other departments to drive continuous improvement in cleanliness, safety, and infection control. The role also includes training and coaching team members on hygiene practices, maintaining accurate documentation and audit records, and supporting incident investigations and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in hotel hygiene, sanitation, and food safety management, including knowledge of HACCP or similar standards.
- Experience conducting hygiene audits, risk assessments, and implementing preventive and corrective action plans.
- Strong skills in staff training, coaching, and communication to promote a culture of cleanliness and safety.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with housekeeping, kitchen, engineering, and front-of-house teams to align hygiene practices.
- Solid understanding of local health regulations, infection control measures, and environmental safety requirements.
- Relevant diploma or degree in Hotel Management, Environmental Health, Food Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- Prior experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry, preferably in an international hotel brand.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage documentation and compliance reporting.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed to support operations, audits, and training schedules.
- Proficiency in English; familiarity with local languages is an advantage.
