Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed engineering and design of HVAC systems for:
- Offshore facilities (FPSOs, platforms, living quarters, etc.)
- Marine applications (vessels, E-Houses, accommodation modules)
- Onshore oil & gas facilities (substation buildings, control rooms, modular buildings/E-houses)
- Develop and review:
- HVAC load calculations (heat load, ventilation requirements)
- Equipment sizing and selection (AHUs, FCUs, chillers, ducting systems, etc.)
- Ducting and piping layouts, routing, and 3D model inputs
- HVAC design basis and technical specifications
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes and standards such as:
- ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, API, project-specific and client standards
- Interface with multidisciplinary teams including:
- Mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and structural teams
- Participate in model reviews, HAZID/HAZOP workshops, and design reviews
- Support procurement activities:
- Technical bid evaluations (TBE)
- Vendor document review and approvals
- Provide engineering support during fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases (as required)
Technical Skills & Expertise
- Strong experience in HVAC system design for:
- Hazardous area classification environments
- Pressurization systems (e.g., control rooms, E-houses)
- Smoke extraction and fire/safety ventilation systems
- Hands-on experience with:
- HVAC design calculations and software tools
- Good understanding of:
- Offshore design constraints (space, weight, corrosion, redundancy)
- Noise and vibration considerations in marine environments
Preferred Experience (Not Mandatory)
- Site experience related to HVAC installation and troubleshooting
- Exposure to pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
Key Attributes
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment
- Experience working with major EPC contractors and clients
