Role Description This is a full-time, on-site HVAC Design Engineer role based in Pune City. The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for designing HVAC systems for commercial and industrial projects, including load calculations, equipment selection, duct and piping layouts, and preparation of detailed drawings and technical documentation. The role involves reviewing project specifications, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders (consultants, contractors, and suppliers), and ensuring designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements. The HVAC Design Engineer will support tendering activities by preparing BOQs, cost estimates, and technical proposals, and will provide design-related support during installation, testing, commissioning, and handover. The position also requires ongoing collaboration to optimize energy efficiency, system reliability, and maintainability.
Qualifications
- Strong HVAC design and engineering skills, including load calculation, equipment sizing, duct and piping design, and familiarity with VRF/VRV, chiller, and ductable AC systems.
- Proficiency in design and drafting tools such as AutoCAD, Revit or similar CAD/BIM software, and comfort working with technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of relevant HVAC codes, standards, and guidelines (such as ASHRAE, IS codes, local building regulations), and ability to apply them in practical design work.
- Experience with project coordination, including interaction with consultants, developers, contractors, and suppliers, and managing design inputs and approvals.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports, specifications, and presentations.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; prior experience in HVAC design
