HVAC TECHNICAL LEAD
Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning Systems | 15+ Years Experience
Position Overview
Lead a team of HVAC engineers in designing and implementing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across residential, commercial, retail, industrial, and data center sectors. Responsibilities include team management, client liaison, technical coordination with architects and stakeholders, load calculations supervision, technical specifications, equipment selection, BOQs, drawing reviews, and vendor coordination.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead and manage HVAC engineering team; ensure quality standards and professional development
· Client communications and stakeholder coordination with architects, MEP consultants, and project managers
· Supervise HVAC load calculations, energy modeling, CFD simulations, and system performance analysis
· Develop technical specifications, design manuals, equipment schedules, and BOQs compliant with codes and standards
· Review and approve HVAC drawings (ductwork, piping, system schematics) before submission
· Coordinate equipment vendor selection, procurement, and commissioning; maintain quality control documentation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
· 15+ years in HVAC design and engineering; 5+ years leading technical teams
· Expertise in HVAC system design, load calculations, energy efficiency, and thermal comfort
· Knowledge of ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, NFPA, IEC, EN standards and local building codes
· Proficiency in HVAC design software (Trane TRACE, Carrier HAP, AutoCAD, Revit)
· Strong technical writing skills for specifications, system design manuals, and BOQs
· Bachelor's degree in HVAC, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
· Professional Engineer (PE) or HVAC certification (NATE, CET) highly desirable
