Job Statement
Responsibilities include assist in the upkeep of building, timely and satisfactory completion of assigned work orders, and event set-up and tear-down. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively with staff, vendors, and customers with a positive and professional manner
Essential Duties
- Responsible for drywall repairs, painting both interior and exterior, and clean surfaces.
- Making repairs to various plumbing fixtures, unstopping sinks, commodes, urinals and floor drains.
- Making repairs to various door hardware knobs, panic bars, closers, and adjust hinges.
- Responsible for relocating furniture, replacing stain ceiling tiles and assisting with the liquidation process.
- Replacing light bulbs adjust dimmers, and clean lens.
- Inspects and cleans debris from roofs and roof drain domes.
- Hanging TV monitors, bulletin boards, pictures, and other items used in the office workspace.
- Pick up trash and debris from Huntsville Utilities exteriors; remove spider webs from the exterior of buildings, (i.e., porch ceilings, windows, and light fixtures); use a leaf blower to maintain porches, sidewalks, and parking lots.
Additional Duties
- Assist with the setup and the cleanup of job sites.
- Set up training-rooms for company-related events; at the conclusion of events, restore training-rooms to standard operating condition; clean the tables, chairs, and vacuum if needed after each function.
- Performs routine sweeping and cleaning tasks
- Maintain the janitorial supplies and reorder as needed.
- Assist other Facilities Maintenance Technicians as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience: One (1) year related maintenance experience preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact well with others. Basic computer skills preferred. Ability to multitask and service on-demand in a friendly and professional manner.
Equipment: May operate pick-up trucks, hand/power tools, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, shovels, drills, saws, vacuum cleaner, carpet extractor, leaf blower, and pressure washer.
Physical Demands: Lifting up to fifty pounds, stooping, bending, standing, twisting, climbing, and some exposure to inclement weather.
Other: Must have a valid driver’s license; subject to on-call work (i.e. overtime, weekends, and holidays)
