The Role

As a research associate, you’ll play a key role on our R&D team supporting the development and testing of our interventions in human cell models of inflammation and neurodegeneration. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their scientific career who wants to grow within a cross-disciplinary team and contribute to high-impact translational research.

Responsibilities

  • Support and carry out the execution of in vitro experiments in cell culture models, including human immune, glial, or neuronal cells exposed to EMF protocols
  • Perform cell- and molecular-based assays that assess ROS production, mitochondrial activity, cytokine levels, autophagy, and survival
  • Carry out imaging workflow including immunostaining, fluorescence microscopy, and image quantification using tools like ImageJ or Napari.
  • Maintain lab stocks, prepare reagents, and ensure accurate data entry in notebooks and digital systems
  • Work collaboratively with scientists and engineers to develop and improve protocols and interpret experimental results

Qualifications

  • A degree in biology, neuroscience, biomedical engineering, or a related field
  • At least 1–2 years of hands-on lab experience, including coursework, internships, or employment in biotech or academic labs
  • Experience with mammalian cell culture and molecular cell biology techniques (e.g. ELISA, qPCR, immunofluorescence staining, western blotting)
  • Experience with flow cytometry and PBMC isolation
  • Experience in neurobiology, cell stress signaling, or noninvasive stimulation is a plus, but not required
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Anticipated Start Date: Immediately

Location: This full-time position is based in San Francisco, CA.
