Job Description: HR Generalist
Position: HR Generalist
Department: Human Resources
Reporting To: Management / Founder
Location: Delhi
Experience Required: 2–5 years
Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist who will act as the sole HR representative of the organization, managing the complete employee lifecycle and ensuring smooth HR operations. The role requires ownership of end-to-end recruitment, employee onboarding and exit processes, payroll coordination, statutory compliance, HR documentation, and HR analytics while contributing to the organization’s people strategy and culture.
The ideal candidate should be capable of building HR systems, policies, and processes from the ground up while supporting leadership in decision-making through HR data and insights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
- Manage end-to-end recruitment including job postings, sourcing, screening, interviews, and offer rollouts.
- Coordinate with hiring managers to understand role requirements and hiring priorities.
- Manage candidate pipeline through recruitment platforms.
- Ensure a smooth candidate experience and timely closure of open roles.
- Maintain recruitment reports and track hiring metrics such as TAT and cost per hire.
2. Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle Management
- Manage the complete onboarding process including documentation, employee records, and HR orientation.
- Ensure employees are onboarded smoothly with access to necessary tools and policies.
- Maintain employee data, contracts, and HR records.
- Manage probation confirmations and employee documentation.
3. Exit Management
- Handle employee offboarding and exit formalities.
- Conduct exit interviews and analyze attrition trends.
- Ensure proper handover, documentation, and final settlements.
- Maintain exit reports and provide insights to leadership.
4. Payroll & Compensation Support
- Coordinate with finance/accounts for monthly payroll processing.
- Ensure accuracy in attendance, leave records, reimbursements, and salary components.
- Prepare monthly payroll inputs and salary reports.
- Maintain payroll records and employee compensation data.
5. Compliance & Statutory Management
- Ensure compliance with applicable labour laws and statutory regulations.
- Manage statutory processes including:
- Provident Fund (PF)
- Group Health Insurance (GHI)
- Other applicable statutory benefits.
- Maintain statutory records and coordinate filings with consultants if required.
6. HR Operations & Cost Tracking
- Prepare and maintain monthly employee cost sheets.
- Track and analyze manpower costs.
- Maintain employee databases and HR documentation.
7. Performance Management Support
- Assist leadership in performance appraisal cycles.
- Coordinate performance review processes, documentation, and evaluation tracking.
- Support the creation of KRAs, KPIs, and performance metrics.
8. HR Policies & Process Development
- Draft, implement, and update HR policies, SOPs, and employee handbooks.
- Ensure employees are aware of organizational policies and workplace guidelines.
- Continuously improve HR processes for efficiency and compliance.
9. Employee Engagement & Culture
- Support initiatives that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Organize employee activities, celebrations, and feedback mechanisms.
- Act as the point of contact for employee queries and HR support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–5 years of HR generalist experience.
- Strong knowledge of recruitment, payroll coordination, HR operations, and labour laws.
- Experience handling PF, insurance, and statutory compliance.
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple HR responsibilities.
Preferred Skills
- Experience working in startups or small organizations.
- Familiarity with HRMS systems and ATS platforms.
- Basic understanding of HR analytics and reporting.
