Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Payroll & Compliance to lead and manage the organization’s payroll and statutory compliance function. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of end-to-end payroll processing, taxation, and labor law compliance, along with strong analytical and communication skills. This role demands accuracy, timeliness, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
•Oversee and manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
•Supervise payroll inputs including attendance, deductions, reimbursements, incentives, and full & final settlements.
•Ensure statutory compliance under PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, and TDS regulations.
•Handle Form 16, tax computations, and coordinate with the Finance team for monthly reconciliation and audits.
•Keep track of labor law updates, ensuring adherence to all applicable employment laws and compliance timelines.
•Maintain employee data and payroll records in the HRMS system with utmost confidentiality.
•Generate payroll MIS and analytics for management review.
•Lead employee query resolution related to salary, tax, or statutory deductions.
•Liaise with external auditors, consultants, and government departments when required.
Requirements:
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Accounting, or HR.
•Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in payroll management and statutory compliance.
•Strong command of payroll taxation, labor laws, and compliance frameworks.
•Advanced proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, MIS reporting).
•Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
•High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
