ABOUT DEGREEFYD
DegreeFYD is an edtech startup connecting students with the right college programs across India. We're a 100-person team, growing fast, and proud of the impact we create — every successful enrolment is a student whose life just changed direction.
We're at an exciting stage where the foundations we build today will define the company for years. This role is central to that.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As we scale from 100 to 200 people, we're looking for an experienced HR Manager to own the people function end-to-end. This is a high-visibility, high-ownership role — you'll work closely with the CEO and senior leadership, lead a small HR team, and directly shape the culture and capability of a growing organisation.
If you enjoy building in a fast-moving environment, influencing real decisions, and seeing your work translate into tangible outcomes, this is the role for you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Talent Acquisition
- Own the hiring plan and targets across functions — not just support the process
- Build pipelines, partner with business heads, and ensure we attract the right people as we scale
Employee Lifecycle
- Design and deliver a consistent, positive experience from onboarding to exit
- Ensure every employee touchpoint reflects the values and culture of DegreeFYD
Payroll & Compliance
- Manage accurate and timely payroll processing
- Ensure full statutory compliance — PF, ESIC, TDS on salary, labour law, and related regulations
Grievance Management
- Be a trusted, fair, and decisive point of contact for employee concerns
- Handle disputes with empathy and documentation-first discipline
Culture & Engagement
- Build initiatives that keep people motivated and connected, especially during high-intensity seasons
- Be a champion for a workplace people are proud to be part of
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a small HR team
- Set a high bar for delivery while investing in their growth
─────────────────────────────────────────────
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- 3–5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a startup or high-growth environment
- Proven track record of owning and delivering on hiring targets
- Solid working knowledge of payroll, PF, ESIC, and statutory compliance
- Empathetic communicator with the ability to handle difficult conversations decisively
- Builder mindset — comfortable creating structure and process where little exists
- Strong organisational and people management skills
- Edtech or B2C startup experience is a plus, not a must
─────────────────────────────────────────────
WORK ENVIRONMENT
We're a startup — which means pace, variety, and real ownership. During peak seasons, we operate 6 days a week; during off-seasons, 5.5 days. We believe in working hard and building something meaningful together.
─────────────────────────────────────────────
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
- A seat at the table — direct access to leadership with real influence on company direction
- The opportunity to build an HR function from the ground up at a scaling startup
- Competitive compensation that grows with the role
- A leadership team that values people and invests in their development
- The satisfaction of building something that genuinely impacts students' lives
