The Opportunity
ISMG is seeking an experienced
HR Manager based in Mumbai, India to lead and support our human resources function across the
APAC region.
This is a highly dynamic, hands-on role that sits at the intersection of HR administration, employee experience, and talent development. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, contributing to HR strategy, and partnering closely with regional and global leadership to support business growth.
This is a
6–8 month contract position designed to support a key maternity leave within the HR team. Given the continued growth of our APAC business, there is strong potential for the role to extend or convert to a full-time opportunity, based on performance and organizational needs.
What You'll Be Doing
HR Operations & Administration
- Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, and employee data management
- Maintain accurate employee records and oversee HRIS systems
- Support payroll coordination, benefits administration, and vendor management across APAC regions
- Monitor HR budgets and ensure operational efficiency
Compliance & Policy Management
- Ensure compliance with Indian labor laws and support compliance across other APAC jurisdictions (e.g., Singapore, Philippines, etc.)
- Develop, update, and implement HR policies aligned with local regulations and global standards
- Conduct audits and ensure best practices in HR governance and documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- Support compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness across APAC
- Conduct benchmarking and assist in designing total rewards strategies
- Manage annual compensation cycles, performance reviews, and benefits renewals
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a trusted partner and point of contact for employee concerns and workplace issues
- Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, confidentiality, and compliance
- Drive employee engagement initiatives, including surveys, feedback mechanisms, and retention strategies
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture
What You Bring To The Table
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)
- 5–8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably supporting regional or global teams
- Strong knowledge of Indian labor laws and HR compliance requirements; exposure to broader APAC markets is a plus
- Experience in employee relations, performance management, and HR operations
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth, global environment
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), HRIS platforms, and collaboration tools
