The company
Umendra Life Sciences manufactures OTC topical pharmaceutical and personal care products — creams, gels, ointments, lotions — primarily for US and international markets. We're a USFDA-compliant manufacturing plant based near Bavla, Ahmedabad.
The role
We're looking for an HR Operations professional who can own the full payroll and compliance stack at our plant — not manage it in the background, but genuinely own it.
What you'll own
- Monthly payroll processing — from attendance validation to disbursement coordination with Finance
- Statutory compliance: PF, ESIC, PT, LWF, Gratuity, Bonus, Contract Labour Act — filings, registers, government interactions
- Contractor workforce management — bill verification, wage registers, licences, renewals, CLRA compliance
- Attendance and time office management — shifts, biometrics, overtime, MIS
- Employee lifecycle documentation — onboarding, confirmation, transfers, separations
- Leave and absenteeism tracking and reporting
- Monthly HR MIS for management across payroll, manpower, leave, and compliance
Who fits this role
You've spent 5–8 years doing HR Operations in a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or industrial environment — not in a corporate head office, not in services.
You should be on-site at Bavla (35–40 km from Ahmedabad city). This is a full-time, in-person role.
Qualifications: MBA/PGDM in HR, MSW, or equivalent | HRMS/ERP hands-on experience | Strong MS Excel skills
What this role isn't
This isn't an HRBP or talent acquisition role. It isn't remote or hybrid. And it isn't for candidates who've only worked in IT, banking, or services environments — the manufacturing context here is real and non-negotiable.
