Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function across India and Bangladesh, supporting a workforce of approximately 5,000 employees.
Based in Mumbai and reporting directly to the Executive Vice President, South Asia, this is a strategic leadership opportunity for an experienced HR professional who can partner with senior business leaders while driving operational excellence across a complex, multi-site organisation.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the people agenda, including organisational development, talent management, employee engagement, performance management, succession planning, leadership development and employee relations. They will play a key role in supporting business growth, leading change initiatives and ensuring HR strategies are aligned with commercial objectives.
This position would suit an HR leader with experience in industrial, engineering, manufacturing or similarly operational environments, where supporting large, geographically dispersed workforces has been a core part of their remit.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the HR strategy across India and Bangladesh, supporting approximately 5,000 employees.
- Partner with the Executive Vice President and senior leadership team on strategic people initiatives.
- Drive organisational effectiveness, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Lead talent acquisition, leadership development and employee engagement programmes.
- Provide guidance on employee relations, performance management and HR best practices.
- Champion organisational change and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with local employment legislation and corporate HR policies.
- Develop and mentor the regional HR team while fostering a high-performance culture.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience in a senior HR leadership position within an industrial, engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong strategic business partnering experience with executive leadership teams.
- Demonstrated experience managing HR across large employee populations and multiple locations.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience leading organisational change and transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and HR best practices within India.
- Based in, or willing to relocate to, Mumbai.
