Job Description
Role: HR Business Partner (HRBP)
Location: Vadodara
Time Commitment: Options exist for full time and part time roles.
Reports To: Founder / Director Operations
Role Overview
Phonon is seeking a Part-Time HR Business Partner to help strengthen our people processes, recruitment practices, and performance management systems as the company grows.
This role will work closely with leadership and department heads to ensure that HR processes support organizational growth, accountability, and team development. The position is ideal for an experienced HR professional who enjoys building structured HR systems while working in a flexible, part-time capacity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Performance Management System (PMS)
- Design and manage the company’s performance management framework.
- Coordinate goal setting, mid-year reviews, and annual appraisals.
- Work with managers to ensure measurable KPIs are defined.
- Track performance improvement plans (PIPs) and follow-up actions.
2. Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Coordinate hiring across departments including engineering, product, sales, and operations.
- Source candidates through job portals and professional networks.
- Conduct initial screening interviews.
- Coordinate interview processes with hiring managers.
- Manage offer letters and candidate communication.
3. Talent Development & Organizational Support
- Support leadership in team structure planning and hiring strategy.
- Assist managers in identifying skill gaps and development needs.
- Help build a positive, accountable, and performance-driven culture.
- Standardize processes for onboarding, confirmation, promotion, and exits.
- Support management in handling sensitive HR matters.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 8-12 years of experience in HR Business Partner / HR Generalist roles.
- Experience in technology companies or startups preferred.
- Strong exposure to PMS, recruitment, and HR policy frameworks.
- Ability to work independently with senior leadership.
- Good judgment and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Comfortable operating in a founder-led, fast-moving environment.
Working Model
- Approximately 4 hours per day / ~20 hours per week.
- Flexible scheduling but available during key HR processes and hiring cycles.
Compensation
- Retainer basis: depending on experience.
