Role Summary
The Senior HR Business Partner is a strategic advisor to business and delivery leadership, accountable for shaping talent, leadership capability, and organization effectiveness in alignment with business priorities. The role goes beyond transactional HR support to influence outcomes across performance, succession, engagement, and workforce capability in a complex, matrixed environment.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Business Partnering
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior business leaders on people, organization, and leadership matters.
- Translate business strategy into actionable people plans to cover workforce planning, capability build, succession, and engagement.
- Challenge and influence leadership decisions to ensure long‑term talent and organizational sustainability.
Talent & Leadership Management
- Own end‑to‑end talent outcomes for the business unit including Top Talent identification, succession planning, and leadership bench strength.
- Drive differentiated talent practices for critical roles and high‑potential employees.
- Partner with leaders on performance management, promotion readiness, and leadership development interventions.
Organization Effectiveness & Change
- Support organization design, role clarity, and capability alignment during growth, restructuring, or integration initiatives.
- Lead change management and communication for org transformations, ensuring minimal disruption and strong employee connect.
- Actively manage employee sentiment and risk during periods of change.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Drive engagement strategies aligned to business context and employee feedback (e.g., survey insights).
- Coach leaders on building inclusive, high‑performance teams and strengthening manager effectiveness.
- Ensure consistent application of company values, culture, and people practices.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all people decisions comply with company policies, statutory requirements, and governance standards.
- Partner with ER, Legal, and COEs to manage complex employee relations issues with fairness and consistency.
- Provide risk flags and data‑based insights to leadership on attrition, capability gaps, and leadership risks.
- Ownership of Pune as a location from BHR perspective
Data‑led Decision Making
- Use people analytics to diagnose issues, track outcomes, and inform leadership decisions.
- Shift conversations from activity completion to impact on business and talent outcomes.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong business acumen with the ability to connect people decisions to financial and operational outcomes.
- High credibility and influencing skills with senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of talent lifecycle, leadership development, succession planning, and engagement levers.
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multi‑location, and global environment.
- Strong judgment, discretion, and comfort handling sensitive employee and leadership matters.
Education & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent from a reputed institute.
- 12–16+ years of progressive HR experience, with significant exposure in HR Business Partnering roles.
- Prior experience in IT / IT services / global delivery environments preferred.
