Job Title: Senior Executive – Human Resources (Plant HRBP)
Location: Trichy
Department: Human Resources
Reports To: Country HR Head
Role Purpose
To act as a plant HR business partner supporting end-to-end HR operations with a strong focus on junior-level manpower hiring, contract labour management, statutory compliance, and shopfloor employee relations to ensure smooth plant operations and workforce productivity.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Workforce Planning (Junior-Level Hiring)
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for junior-level roles such as operators, technicians, trainees, and contract workforce.
- Coordinate with plant departments to understand manpower requirements and hiring timelines.
- Source candidates through ITIs, diploma colleges, local consultants, job portals, and other grassroots channels.
- Conduct initial screening and coordinate interviews for timely closures.
- Maintain recruitment MIS including TAT, cost per hire, and source effectiveness.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline for high-volume hiring requirements.
2. Contract Labour Management
- Oversee deployment and management of contract workforce across plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with the Contract Labour (Regulation & Abolition) Act and other applicable labour laws.
- Validate contractor compliance including licenses, PF/ESI, wage payments, and statutory documentation.
- Monitor contractor performance, productivity, and manpower utilization.
- Coordinate with contractors for timely manpower availability and resolve operational issues.
- Conduct periodic audits of contractor documentation and compliance processes.
3. Employee Relations & Shopfloor HR
- Act as the first point of contact for shopfloor employee grievances and disciplinary cases.
- Drive employee engagement initiatives for blue-collar workforce.
- Maintain harmonious industrial relations and support union interactions where applicable.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to HR policies on the shopfloor.
4. HR Operations & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to labour laws, statutory requirements, and internal HR policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, and HR documentation.
- Support payroll inputs for contract and junior workforce.
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure compliance readiness.
5. Performance & Productivity Support
- Collaborate with plant leadership to improve workforce productivity.
- Support training and skill development programs for junior employees.
- Monitor absenteeism and attrition trends and implement corrective actions.
6. HR Analytics & Reporting
- Track and report key HR metrics including:
- Recruitment TAT
- Cost per hire (junior roles)
- Contract labour utilization and cost
- Absenteeism and attrition rates
- Contractor performance ratings
- Provide data-driven insights for workforce optimization.
Key KPIs
- Recruitment closure within defined TAT
- Cost per hire for junior workforce
- Contract labour compliance score
- Reduction in absenteeism and attrition
- Contractor performance effectiveness
- Zero non-compliance in audits
Qualifications & Experience
- MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent
- 7–10 years of HR experience in a manufacturing/plant environment
- Strong exposure to high-volume recruitment and contract labour management
- Working knowledge of labour laws and statutory compliance
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong stakeholder management and shopfloor presence
- Experience in contract labour and vendor management
- Negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Data-driven HR decision-making
- Strong communication skills; knowledge of local language preferred
Preferred Industry Experience
Manufacturing sectors such as Automotive, FMCG, Heavy Engineering, Wind Energy, or similar plant-based environments.
