Selected Intern's Day-to-day Responsibilities Include
- VSAT Network Monitoring:
- Monitor VSAT network links using NMS tools.
- Track uptime and downtime of remote terminals and take necessary action.
- Perform remote diagnostics and basic troubleshooting.
- Shift Handover & Documentation:
- Manage day-to-day activities during the assigned shift.
- Ensure all scheduled tasks (e.g., preventive maintenance, monitoring, system checks) are completed.
- Log and Report Shift-wise Operational Data:
- Maintain accurate shift logs, ticket records, and issue escalation history.
- Ensure smooth shift handovers with proper issue briefing.
- Update incident trackers and generate shift-wise reports.
- System Monitoring & Issue Handling:
- Monitor CCTV, VSAT, or related infrastructure for faults or irregularities.
- Attend to on-site faults, perform basic troubleshooting, and escalate issues as required.
- Coordinate with other engineers, the control room, and vendors as needed.
- Respond to link failure alerts, signal drops, and hardware alarms.
- Escalate unresolved faults to Level 2 support or OEM/vendor.
- Coordinate with field engineers for on-site rectification.
- Installation & Maintenance Support:
- Assist in system installations, testing, and commissioning.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure documentation (checklists, installation reports, service logs) is properly filled.
- Coordination & Reporting:
- Communicate with team leads, managers, and clients for status updates.
- Provide end-of-shift handover reports to incoming engineers.
- Raise tickets for unresolved issues and follow up until closure.
- Customer & Internal Communication:
- Interact with clients for outage or site-specific updates.
- Coordinate with the internal support team for resolution planning.
- Update the ticketing system and provide timely communication.
- Other Requirements:
- Demonstrate good communication and reporting skills.
- Be ready to work in high-pressure environments and handle critical incidents.
- Show willingness to learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
