HSEQA Superintendent – Container & Oil Tanker
Location: Mumbai/ Kolkata / Chennai
Job Description:
- Responsible for supporting and monitoring Health, Safety, Environment, Quality & Assurance (HSEQA) standards across the fleet.
- Conduct and coordinate internal audits, inspections, investigations and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with ISM, ISPS, MARPOL, SOLAS, MLC and applicable flag/class/industry requirements.
- Monitor vessel performance and follow up on non-conformities, observations, corrective and preventive actions.
- Review and update HSEQA procedures, manuals, checklists and safety documentation.
- Support incident/accident investigations and ensure effective root-cause analysis and close-out.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including SOPEP/SMPEP, BWM and MARPOL requirements.
- Coordinate with vessel teams, technical/operations departments, flag, class and other stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and support to Masters and vessel management teams on HSEQA matters.
- Monitor safety trends and prepare HSEQA reports, statistics and management updates.
Candidate Profile:
- Must have sailed as Master on Container and Oil Tanker vessels.
- Strong knowledge of ISM, ISPS, MARPOL and HSE management systems.
- Shore-based HSEQA/audit experience will be an added advantage.
- Good communication, analytical and report-writing skills.
- Mumbai-based candidates preferred.
