Role Description The HSE Lead (Data Center and Construction) is a full-time, on-site role based in Gujarat, India, responsible for overseeing health, safety, and environmental practices across data center and construction projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing, implementing, and monitoring HSE policies and procedures, conducting site inspections and risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local and international safety regulations. The role involves investigating incidents, recommending corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining accurate HSE documentation and reports. The HSE Lead will coordinate and deliver safety training programs, promote safety awareness among project teams and contractors, and collaborate with project managers to integrate HSE requirements into project planning and execution. This position requires active engagement on-site to drive a strong safety culture and support continuous improvement in occupational health and environmental performance.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Environment Health and Safety (EHS) and Health & Safety, with the ability to design, implement, and oversee robust HSE programs.
- Demonstrated Environmental Awareness and understanding of environmental regulations relevant to data center and construction projects.
- Knowledge of Occupational Health principles, including hazard identification, risk mitigation, and worker wellbeing practices.
- Experience in delivering Training related to HSE, including toolbox talks, induction programs, and refresher sessions for diverse teams.
- Prior experience in HSE leadership within construction, infrastructure, or data center environments; experience with high-risk operations is an advantage.
- Familiarity with applicable Indian safety laws, standards, and guidelines; exposure to international HSE standards (e.g., ISO 45001, ISO 14001) is beneficial.
- Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and the ability to use HSE data to drive improvements.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to influence on-site teams and contractors toward safe practices.
- Relevant academic background, such as a degree or diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with recognized HSE certifications.
