About the role

The Technology Risk Graduate Specialist role is primarily focused on the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of technology risks within HSBC. The role will work closely with the CTO and other Technology senior management to help drive the Technology Risk agenda and provide proactive advice and challenge on existing and emerging technology risks. The role will also provide independent oversight and monitoring of technology risks, and support the development and implementation of new risk assessment methodologies and risk management frameworks. Key Responsibilities: - Provide independent oversight, challenge, and assurance over the identification, assessment, and mitigation of technology risks within HSBC. - Support the development and implementation of new risk assessment methodologies and risk management frameworks across the technology function. - Perform detailed risk assessments on technology initiatives, projects, and operational processes to identify and evaluate technology risks. - Liaise with technology and business stakeholders to understand their activities, risks, and controls and provide advice and guidance on risk management. - Prepare and deliver periodic risk reporting to senior management and governance forums. - Support the development of technology risk policies, standards, and procedures. - Contribute to the design and delivery of technology risk training and awareness programs. - Develop and maintain strong working relationships with technology and other risk teams to ensure a coordinated approach to risk management. Requirements: - Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 0-2 years of experience in a technology risk, technology audit, or technology consulting role. - Strong understanding of technology risk management principles and practices. - Knowledge of technology risk assessment methodologies and risk management frameworks. - Good understanding of common technology risks, such as cybersecurity, data privacy, system availability, and third-party risks. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and evaluate technology risks. - Proficient in the use of technology risk management tools and software. - Familiarity with banking regulations and industry standards related to technology risk management.
