Who we are looking for?
We are seeking a experienced and talented HS code classifier who oversee and
enhance the quality and consistency of product classifications. This role will primarily
be responsible for auditing classifications performed by the team, ensuring accuracy
before customer delivery, strong documentation standards.
You will also contribute to complex classifications, design training programs for
classifiers, define and refine classification processes, and ensure high-quality rationale
writing aligned with global trade compliance standards.
Must Have
• Strong expertise in HS classification, ECCN classification, GRI understanding.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in classification audits in various chapters.
• Hands on experience in rationale writing for technical and non-technical
products
• Expert in interpretations in different rulings, explanatory notes etc.
Good to Have
• Worked in technology, IT, service based company.
• Experience in dealing with different departments and closely working with
engineers
• Experience in various tools like jira, confluence, one source, customs info etc.
Key Responsibilities
• Audit and review HS (Harmonized System) classifications completed by the team
to ensure accuracy and compliance with customs regulations.
• Evaluate and validate classification rationale for completeness, clarity, and ready
to share with customs.
• Identify trends in classification errors and recommend corrective actions.
• Prepare and conduct classification trainings for existing and new batches.
• Provide structured feedback to classifiers to improve quality and consistency.
• Define, document, and standardize the end-to-end classification process.
• Establish clear guidelines, SOPs, and audit checkpoints.
• Work closely with engineering team to establish some paths for efficiencies.
• Handle customer’s communications on day today basis for latest updates and
communicating with other teammates.
Other details
• Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, capable of working
effectively with cross-functional teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
• Master’s or bachelor degree in international business, science or related field
