Tasks Shall Include But Not Limited To
- Resources and Personnel:
- Planning the placement and relief of seafarers and meeting manning levels on board all ships under their responsibility.
- Managing the Ex-hands and planning them for their next contract
- Ensuring that Ex Hand retention is maintained & improved.
- Coordinating with seafarers to track their availability and training requirements.
- Corresponding with manning agents related to crew planning.
- Keeping Crewing Management Software (PAL) up to date for planning activities
- Verification and Validation:
- Verifying that crew members are meeting the defined employment and placement criteria before planning.
- Checking appraisal reports and performance recommendations prior planning and taking appropriate action in consultation with crew managers
- Planning and Development:
- Generating promotion lists based on company defined criteria and presenting the same to Crew Manager for his consideration.
- Keeping abreast of all STCW requirements pertaining to current and expected vessels in management.
- Monitoring appraisal reports and training requirements of seafarers being planned for the vessel and communicating training requirements to the General Manager.
- Advising the General Manager in advance about any training gaps that need to be closed out prior embarkation.
- Strong Analytical and Problem solving abilities
- Excellent inter personal and conflict resolution skills
