Role Overview: 

We are looking for an HR Manager & Technical Talent Acquisition specialist who can build and scale a high-performance team. The person will be responsible for finding exceptional candidates, designing acquisition strategies and managing HR systems. Overseeing HR operations, employee relations, compliance and HR policy implementation are also included. 


The ideal candidate must be execution-oriented, highly proactive, strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of both the recruitment landscape and HR operational functions, particularly within the fast-paced working environment. 


Key Responsibilities:

1. Talent Acquisition & Hiring Systems: 

  • Lead the complete hiring lifecycle from role definition to onboarding. 
  • Design structured hiring procedures & strategies, including screening rounds, technical tests, and interview frameworks, etc. 
  • Partner with department heads and hiring managers to understand their staffing needs and provide guidance on workforce planning. 
  • Identify & recruit across multiple categories including: 
  1. Deep-tech engineers and researchers (Project Managers, Software Developers, Full-Stack Developers, Avionics Engineers, UAV System Engineers, Drone Pilots) 
  2. Domain experts such as retired defence officers and professors 
  3. Freelancers & consultants 
  4. Skilled technicians and lab staff 
  5. Operational staff and labour when required (Operations Managers, Office boy)
  6. Interns 
  • Proactively identify & source exceptional talent across startups, research labs, universities, and defence organizations
  • Willingness to study technical concepts to understand the requirements according to specific hiring.  
  • Maintain a strong pipeline and candidate database for future hiring needs. 
  • Identify and manage assessment platforms for technical hiring such as coding tests or engineering evaluations. 
  • Build strong relationships with college placement coordinators and manage campus hiring programs
  • Conduct bulk hiring when required, especially during production stages & user-trials. 
  • Benchmark market compensation and salary structures for different roles. 
  • Lead salary negotiations and offer discussions with candidates. 


2. HR Operations & Organizational Development 

  • Manage core HR operations including HR software, Applicant Tracking System (ATS), documentation, and employee records
  • Enhance employer branding through targeted marketing campaigns, social media presence, and engagement with potential candidates, positioning the company as an employer of choice in the deep tech industry. 
  • Ensure compliance with Indian labour laws, statutory requirements, PF/ESI regulations, and employment contracts
  • Coordinate with the Finance team for payroll processing, audits, and manpower cost tracking. 
  • Lead the performance management cycle, including: 
  • Goal setting 
  • Feedback systems 
  • Performance reviews & improvement plans 
  • Appraisals 
  • Identify and develop training programs to enhance employee skills and performance. Ensure employees are continuously trained on relevant topics and provided opportunities for professional growth. 
  • Track and analyse recruitment metrics to measure the effectiveness of hiring strategies and make data-driven decisions. 
  • Conduct employee onboarding and orientation programs
  • Manage sensitive HR conversations, resolving conflicts, performance issues, and exits. 
  • Ensuring smooth offboarding and exit processes and capturing feedback for continuous improvement. 
  • Use AI tools and automation to improve hiring efficiency and decision-making, including: 
  1. JD optimization 
  2. Boolean search refinement 
  3. Resume summarization 
  4. Candidate scoring frameworks 
  5. Structured interview question generation 
  6. Resume shortlisting automation 


Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Alternatively, a bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) with relevant HR experience.   


Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years hands-on experience of Talent Acquisition and recruitment processes in deep-tech industries. 
  • Hands-on experience in HR operations and performance management is highly desirable, particularly within the tech industry.  


Skills 

  • Ability to read and understand technical profiles to shortlist candidates. 
  • Willingness to understand technical concepts to effectively evaluate and shortlist the candidates. 
  • Ability to take actions and ownership of delegated works. 
  • Creative problem solving & ability to learn/flex and adapt to changing business needs.   
  • Experience using ATS platforms, HR software, and AI tools for recruitment. 
  • Strong negotiation, written & verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Knowledge of Indian labour laws and HR compliance. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs.
