The Role
We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager & Talent Lead to own our people operations and build our internal recruitment engine from scratch. At Obraz, you won't just manage a process; you will build the operational framework that allows our engineering team to scale.
This is a unique position with dual responsibilities:
- Obraz Growth: Sourcing and headhunting specialized technical talent (Computer Vision, MLOps, Mobile Developers) who work with Python, Kotlin, and OpenCV.
- Operational Governance: Providing structure, compliance oversight, and mentorship to the junior HR team at our parent organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Recruitment: Own the end-to-end talent pipeline for highly niche AI/ML and engineering roles. You should know how to navigate GitHub, LinkedIn, and technical communities to find true builders.
- HR Infrastructure: Build and implement core HR workflows, automated onboarding systems, and employee databases from scratch to support clean, modular growth.
- Compliance & Legal Mastery: Take full ownership of employment contracts, rigorous non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), Indian labor laws, and structured separation/layoff protocols.
- Parent Company Oversight: Act as the operational lead for the junior HR staff at our parent company, ensuring zero-error payroll processing, attendance tracking, and statutory compliance (PF/ESI/PT).
- Lifecycle Management: Run efficient hiring cycles (from discovery calls to technical scheduling) and manage on-site onboarding, structured performance reviews, and team retention.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 4–6 years of core HR experience within IT services, tech startups, or product development environments.
- Startup Mindset: Proven ability to build operational frameworks independently without relying on an enterprise corporate manual.
- Technical Literacy: Comfortable understanding engineering terminology and capable of screening technical candidates for baseline competency and cultural alignment.
- Tools: Advanced Excel skills (for payroll and data validation) and experience implementing modern HRMS platforms (e.g., Keka, Zoho, RazorpayX).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication in English. Proficiency in Hindi is a distinct advantage.
