About 1.5degree
1.5degree is one of the fastest-growing ice cream QSR brands, with its own in-house manufacturing setup powering rapid outlet expansion. As we scale, we’re looking for an HR Manager who can build and run people processes that keep pace with a high-growth, multi-location, manufacturing-plus-retail environment.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an HR Manager with a proven track record in a similarly fast-scaling F&B/QSR or ice cream manufacturing setup, someone who has managed HR across both factory/plant and retail outlet teams, and who is comfortable using AI-powered tools and HR software (Keka, Kasturi, or similar platforms) to run payroll, recruitment, and appraisals efficiently at scale.
Key Responsibilities
• Payroll & Compliance: Manage end-to-end payroll processing for plant and outlet staff, ensure statutory compliance (PF, ESI, gratuity, labour laws), and maintain accurate attendance-to-payroll workflows.
• Recruitment: Drive hiring across manufacturing, retail/outlet, and corporate roles to support rapid store and plant expansion; build scalable, tech-enabled hiring pipelines.
• Performance Appraisals: Design and run structured appraisal cycles, KRA/KPI frameworks, and performance review processes using HRMS tools.
• HR Systems & AI Tools: Leverage HRMS platforms (Kasturi or equivalent — Keka, Zoho People, greytHR, etc.) and AI-based tools to streamline attendance tracking, payroll accuracy, reporting, and HR analytics.
• Policy & Culture: Develop and implement HR policies suited to a factory + retail hybrid workforce; drive engagement and retention across blue-collar and white-collar teams.
• Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with plant heads, outlet operations, and leadership to align HR practices with business growth targets.
Requirements
• Experience: ~5 years of HR generalist experience, with meaningful exposure to a fast-growing QSR/F&B startup with its own manufacturing unit (ice cream or similar perishable/FMCG manufacturing preferred).
• Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with HRMS/payroll software such as Kasturi, Keka, greytHR, Zoho People, or similar, along with comfort using AI-based HR tools for recruitment screening, payroll processing, and performance tracking.
• Core Skills: Strong grasp of payroll processing, statutory compliance, recruitment lifecycle management, and performance appraisal frameworks.
• Education: MBA/PGDM in Human Resources (or equivalent relevant degree); additional certifications in HR analytics or HRMS tools are a plus.
• Other: Ability to manage HR for a dual workforce — plant/manufacturing staff and retail/outlet teams — with strong stakeholder management and multitasking ability.
Preferred
• Prior experience in an ice cream, dairy, bakery, or similar perishable-goods manufacturing environment.
• Experience scaling HR processes during periods of rapid outlet/unit expansion.
