HR Generalist — Payroll, Compliance & HR Operations

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive, detail-oriented HR Generalist to manage end-to-end HR operations with primary ownership of payroll administration, statutory compliance, employee onboarding, and HR documentation.
This is a hands-on operational role requiring strong technical knowledge of payroll processing, labour law compliance, and HRMS — combined with the ability to deliver a positive employee experience in a fast-paced, process-driven environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Payroll & Compensation
- Process monthly payroll accurately and within timelines
- Verify attendance, leave, overtime, incentives, and salary inputs
- Generate salary slips, payroll reports, and coordinate with Finance for disbursement
- Handle employee payroll-related queries efficiently
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely compliance with EPF, ESIC, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund, and TDS-related payroll inputs
- Prepare and submit statutory returns within prescribed timelines
- Coordinate statutory inspections and liaise with government authorities and consultants
- Maintain complete and accurate compliance records
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Coordinate interview schedules with hiring managers
- Prepare offer letters, appointment letters, and joining documentation
- Conduct employee onboarding and induction programmes
- Facilitate background verification, reference checks, and HRMS record creation
Employee Lifecycle Management
- Issue confirmation, transfer, promotion, increment, and experience letters
- Process employee exits, full & final settlements, and relieving documentation
- Maintain leave, attendance, and personal employee records
HR Operations & MIS
- Maintain and update HRMS with accurate employee data
- Prepare HR MIS reports, dashboards, and organizational charts
- Support performance appraisal cycles and training administration
- Assist in implementation of HR policies and SOPs
WHAT YOU BRING
Must Have:
- 10-15 years of experience in HR Generalist functions
- Hands-on payroll processing and statutory compliance expertise (EPF, ESIC, PT, Labour Laws)
- Experience in recruitment coordination and employee onboarding
- Proficiency in HRMS and payroll software
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in HR MIS and analytics reporting
Preferred:
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources or equivalent
- Experience with AI-enabled HR productivity and automation tools
- Strong understanding of end-to-end HR operations with minimal supervision
