Role Description
Mbanq is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Operations / HR Generalist to manage end-to-end HR operations across the employee lifecycle for the India team, while closely partnering with US HR stakeholders.
This role will independently drive key HR processes, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll, and employee relations. Success in this role will be defined by building efficient HR processes, ensuring compliance and audit readiness, enhancing employee experience, and acting as a trusted HR partner in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Role Scope & Structure
• Supports the India team (small to mid-sized team)
• Acts as the primary HR point of contact for India operations
• Works closely with US HR and cross-functional stakeholders
• Functions as an independent HR contributor managing end-to-end HR operations locally
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Operations and Compliance
• Maintain accurate employee records, HR documentation, and ensure compliance with statutory and internal requirements
• Manage HRMS updates, employee data, and audit readiness every month
• Ensure consistent implementation of HR policies and processes across teams
• Coordinate with compliance teams for internal audits and reporting
• Support HR operations in a regulated fintech environment, ensuring adherence to compliance standards, background verification processes, and audit requirements
2. Talent Acquisition and Recruitment
• Manage end-to-end recruitment process
• Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and manage candidate communication
• Drive offer rollout, negotiation coordination, and joining processes
• Track hiring progress and maintain recruitment data
3. Employee Onboarding and Experience
• Manage complete onboarding process including pre-joining formalities, documentation, and induction
• Coordinate system and access setup (email, HRMS, internal tools)
• Ensure smooth Day 1 experience and team integration for new hires
4. Performance Management
• Support performance appraisal cycles including goal setting, review coordination, and documentation
• Collaborate with managers to ensure timely completion of performance evaluations
• Maintain performance records and support increment/promotion processes
5. Payroll and HR Administration
• Process monthly payroll inputs including attendance, leave data, and employee changes
• Coordinate with Finance for payroll processing and ensure data accuracy
• Manage leave, WFH, and attendance tracking through HRMS and internal tools
6. Employee Relations and Grievance Handling
• Act as the first point of contact for employee queries and HR support
• Handle employee grievances with confidentiality and professionalism
• Coordinate with compliance teams for resolution and documentation
7. Learning and Development
• Coordinate training programs and onboarding learning plans
• Track progress of training initiatives and internship programs
• Support continuous learning and development initiatives
8. Employee Engagement and Workplace Experience
• Manage administrative and employee engagement activities, including office events and team outings, while managing budgets
• Support initiatives to enhance employee experience and workplace culture
9. Stakeholder Collaboration
• Collaborate with US HR and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless HR operations
• Support global HR initiatives and cross-location coordination
Work Timings
Monday to Friday, 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM IST, with required partial overlap with US time zones
Experience
4–6 years in HR Operations / Generalist role
Qualifications
Master’s degree required.
