About Own Door
Own Door is a Property Management-as-a-Service company supporting property management firms across the United States with highly trained remote professionals. We're building a disciplined, performance-driven organisation where ownership, execution, and accountability are non-negotiable.
What this role actually is
This is not a conventional HR role.
We're looking for a senior leader who can run the people function - and when needed, the business — independently. You'll work directly with the founder, own people strategy end-to-end, and be the stabilising force that keeps the organisation aligned and moving, even in the founder's absence.
If you need direction for every decision, this isn't the right seat for you.
What you'll own
→ Founder partnership & business continuity - Act as a strategic partner. Make independent decisions on sensitive matters. Keep things running when the founder isn't in the room.
→ Culture, accountability & discipline - Be the custodian of culture. Enforce standards fairly and firmly. Never political, always clear.
→ Hiring & workforce strategy - Own end-to-end hiring. Build structured evaluation frameworks. Every hire should reflect company values, not just fill a vacancy.
→ Performance management - Run structured appraisal cycles. Address underperformance decisively. Coach managers and build the next layer of leadership.
→ HR operations & governance - Payroll, compliance, exits, documentation. Policies that are enforced, not just written.
Who we're looking for
✅ 8–10 years of HRBP experience (not generalist HR)
✅ Proven ability to run a function independently
✅ Comfortable with difficult conversations and firm decisions
✅ Thinks like a business owner, not a support function
✅ Available for US shift - 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM, fully on-site
✅ High integrity, mature judgment, strict confidentiality
Compensation ₹12–15 LPA - based on interview and last drawn CTC
