Summary/Objective:

A dynamic and talented individual with drive and dedication to create a family-friendly atmosphere and interactive experience for our fans at Houston Astros home games. As a member of the Coca-Cola Shooting Stars, you will have a visible role as a dancer/performer and an ambassador of the Houston Astros brand in and around Houston, adding a more personal touch to games and community events.

 

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Appear as an ambassador of the Houston Astros organization through our in-game promotions and entertainment, community outreach and charity events.
  • Create lifelong memories for Astros fans.
  • Following through on the Astros commitment to delivering a positive, memorable experience for all fans
  • Attend ALL monthly team meetings and other team meetings as determined by the Houston Astros.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

If selected to join the Shooting Stars team for 2026, you commit to attending all mandatory events, including but not limited to:

  • Team onboarding on December 3, 2025: 6:30pm-10:00pm
  • First Dance Practice on December 14, 2025: 9:00am-5:00pm
  • Pre-season Dance Practice:
    • January 6, 8, 13, 15, 27, 29
    • February 21, 22, 24, 26** Nighttime practice
  • Photo Shoot/ Video Shoot: January 17: All Day
  • Fan Fest: January 24: All Day
  • Bootcamp: February 21, 22: All Day
  • World Baseball Classic: March 6-14
  • Opening Day: March 26
  • Junior Shooting Stars Clinic: June 14, July 12, August 29
  • Practice during the season:
    • April 7 and 9
    • May 19 and 21
    • June 23 and 25
    • July 14 and 16
    • August 11 and 13
    • September 8 and 10

Education and/or Experience & Skills:

Required

  • Must exhibit a positive attitude that exudes confidence and enthusiasm while engaging with fans and Astros teammates.
  • Demonstrate a high level of professionalism and uphold our core values of Trust, Integrity, and Excellence.
  • Strong public speaking and communication skills.
  • Adaptable to working in environments with both small and large crowds.
  • Previous dance experience or training is preferred.
  • Maintain a consistent appearance and physic.
  • Must live within 80 miles of Daikin Park.
  • Ability to commit for a one-year term of service exclusive of other professional performance teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and retain information in a fast-paced environment.

 

Work Environment

Position will work in an indoor, outdoor, and stadium environment. The noise level is usually moderate but can be loud within the stadium environment. Must be able to work in all types of outdoor weather conditions and within a stadium environment.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision. Ability to regularly work on your feet for long hours and climb stairs/ramps throughout the ballpark. The position requires the ability to walk long distances and stand up 4 to 5 hours without a break. The ability to lift up to 25 pounds on occasion.

 

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be available to work at least 60 home games beginning on Opening Day of the 2026 season.

 

Travel

Local travel will be expected for this position for offsite events.
