Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Housekeeping faculty role based at the IIHM campus in Ahmedabad. The faculty member will teach housekeeping operations and management, including guest room maintenance, public area cleaning, laundry operations, and hygiene and safety standards, through lectures, demonstrations, and practical sessions. Responsibilities include preparing lesson plans and course materials, conducting assessments, providing constructive feedback, and maintaining academic records. The role also involves mentoring learners, organizing practical training in simulated or live hotel environments, and coordinating with other faculty members to align curricula with current hospitality industry practices. The Housekeeping faculty is expected to participate in academic meetings, contribute to curriculum development, and support academic events, workshops, and student development initiatives.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of housekeeping operations, including guest room and public area maintenance, cleaning procedures, and hygiene and safety standards.
- Experience in hotel housekeeping management or supervisory roles, preferably in recognized hotel chains or hospitality institutions.
- Ability to design and deliver structured lessons, practical demonstrations, and assessments aligned with hospitality industry requirements.
- Effective classroom management skills and the ability to engage, mentor, and support learners from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in additional languages used in hospitality is an advantage.
- Familiarity with hospitality service culture, guest relations, and professional grooming and conduct expected in the industry.
- Comfort with using basic digital tools for teaching, record-keeping, and student communication.
- Diploma or degree in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management; specialized training or certification in Housekeeping will be an added advantage.
- Previous teaching or training experience in hospitality education is highly desirable.
- Commitment to inclusive, unbiased teaching practices and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary academic team.
