waiter's primary role is to ensure a flawless dining experience for guests. Key duties include greeting customers, accurately taking food and drink orders, delivering meals promptly, and processing payments. They must maintain a tidy dining area, anticipate guest needs, and resolve any complaints with professionalism.Core ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service: Welcome guests, present menus, explain daily specials, and offer recommendations based on dietary preferences.Order Management: Take accurate food and drink orders and relay them to the kitchen or bar, either verbally, via memorization, or using point-of-sale (POS) systems.Service Delivery: Serve food and beverages to tables, ensure order accuracy, and check in with diners to guarantee their satisfaction.Table Maintenance: Pre-bus tables by removing empty plates, clear and wipe down tables after guests leave, and reset them with clean linens and silverware.Billing & Cash Handling: Prepare itemized checks, process bill payments (cash, credit cards, or digital transfers), and return exact change or receipts.Opening & Closing DutiesPreparation: Stock service stations with napkins, straws, and cutlery, roll silverware, and review daily reservations and menu changes.Sanitation: Follow strict health and food safety codes, clean up spills, and assist with sweeping or mopping the dining room at the end of a shift.Key Skills RequiredCommunication: Clear, polite verbal communication to coordinate effectively with chefs, bartenders, and guests.Physical Stamina: The endurance to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for long shifts.Multitasking & Organization: Ability to manage multiple tables simultaneously without compromising the quality of service.Problem-Solving: Patience and a calm demeanor when dealing with difficult customers or rectifying issues like an incorrect order.
