Role Description The Horticulture Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad, responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and maintenance of gardens and landscaped areas. Day-to-day tasks include supervising horticulture staff, scheduling and monitoring maintenance activities, and ensuring plant health through proper watering, fertilization, pest and disease management, and pruning. The role involves collaborating with the design and landscaping teams on plant selection, layout, and seasonal planting plans, as well as monitoring project progress to meet quality and safety standards. The Horticulture Manager will interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide expert recommendations, and ensure service delivery meets expectations while optimizing resources and managing budgets.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong horticultural knowledge, including plant identification, soil and nutrient management, irrigation practices, and pest and disease control.
- Candidates should possess skills in garden and landscape management, such as planning planting schemes, supervising maintenance schedules, and ensuring aesthetic and functional garden outcomes.
- Candidates should possess team leadership and people management abilities, including task delegation, training field staff, performance monitoring, and promoting safe work practices.
- Candidates should possess organizational and project management skills, including time management, resource planning, budgeting, and documentation of horticultural activities.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and client service skills to explain horticultural concepts clearly, address client concerns, and collaborate with internal teams.
- Relevant academic background such as a diploma or degree in horticulture, agriculture, landscape management, or a related field is preferred.
- Prior experience in horticulture, landscaping, nursery management, or garden maintenance management will be an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in varying weather conditions and use horticultural tools and equipment safely is required.
