The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing the movement of goods, materials, and shipments to ensure efficient and timely delivery. This role supports inbound and outbound logistics, maintains accurate documentation, and works closely with suppliers, carriers, and internal teams to optimize transportation and inventory flow.
Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain
- Strong understanding of freight modes and shipping processes
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Global Shop, SAP, Oracle, or similar
- Knowledge of international shipping and customs regulations is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables, data analysis)
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and coordination abilities
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with HTS codes, duty rates, and trade compliance
- Familiarity with freight auditing and cost analysis
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience with carrier portals and TMS systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to work in a fast-paced team environment
- CGMP experience preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments (LTL, FTL, parcel, ocean, and air)
- Schedule pickups and deliveries with carriers and freight forwarders
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (BOLs, packing lists, commercial invoices, etc.)
- Ensure compliance with import/export regulations, including HTS classification and country of origin requirements
- Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal teams regarding shipment status
- Maintain accurate records in ERP/WMS systems
- Analyze freight costs and identify opportunities for cost savings
- Assist with carrier selection and rate negotiation
- Support inventory control by coordinating inbound receipts and outbound shipments
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, damages, or claims with carriers
- Monitor key logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, freight cost, transit time, etc.)
Work Environment:
- Office or warehouse environment with occasional floor presence
- May require coordination outside normal business hours depending on shipments
