Job Title: Honeywell AI Summer Internships – Data Engineering

Location: Dublin, (this is a hybrid role, 3 days at the office + 2 days work from home model.)

Role Type: Summer Internship, 3 months with the opportunity for a permanent role.

Summary

We are recruiting for summer internship for Master Students interested in the world of AI and data engineering. The Data Engineer will be responsible for developing and implementing data-driven solutions and products that optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive growth for Honeywell’s Industrial customers. This role focuses on building AI data products using IoT data, handling large-scale streaming and telemetry data, and deploying data pipelines for AI products

You will work with and learn from experienced data scientists and ai/ml engineers who have decades of expertise in using ai/ml in automation and controls and are leader in the evolving digital world of AI.

This role is part of our University Relations program, designed to help students and recent graduates launch their careers with hands-on experience, mentorship, and opportunities for growth within Honeywell. This internship is set up for 3 months, starting from 3rd June 2025 with the opportunity to progress into a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists, and product teams to create data products that serve analytics solutions and AI/ML needs. It includes implementing data models, data pipelines which integrates diverse data sources, and building analytic solutions leveraging AI
  • Manage and process huge volumes of streaming data, ensuring data quality, and implement efficient solutions while working in a fast-paced environment with ambiguous requirements
  • Work on cutting-edge AI projects, leveraging best in class data platforms, develop innovative data products, that transform of industrial operations.
  • Build and optimise data pipelines or software components using modern tooling (e.g., Databricks, cloud platforms).
  • Develop or integrate APIs, microservices, and/or front-end features that leverage AI/ML outputs.
  • Contribute to testing, code reviews, and documentation to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Assist in setting up and maintaining MLOps or DevOps pipelines for continuous model and software delivery.
  • Engage in research, learning sessions, and brainstorming to drive innovative AI-driven solutions.

Key Skills And Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Pursuing or recently graduated (2024 onward) from a Master’s program in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
  • Good written and spoken English
  • AI/ML Awareness: Understanding the basics of AI/ML workflows
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic familiarity with Python and SQL require. Exposure to Databricks, Spark, or other Big Data technologies plus an understanding of frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, or Node.js is helpful
  • Platform Tools: Interest or basic knowledge in container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes), plus continuous integration and delivery
