Role Description The Homologation Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kolhapur. This position is responsible for managing vehicle homologation activities, including preparing technical documentation, coordinating type approval tests, and ensuring motorcycles comply with regional and international regulatory standards. The role involves close collaboration with design, engineering, and quality teams to integrate regulatory requirements into product development and to address compliance issues. The Homologation Engineer will interact with testing agencies and government authorities, track regulatory changes, and support the timely launch of new models. Daily tasks also include maintaining homologation records, supporting audits, and contributing to continuous improvement of compliance processes.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of vehicle homologation processes, type approval procedures, and automotive or motorcycle regulations.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and certification requirements (e.g., emission, safety, noise norms) relevant to motorcycles and automotive products.
- Experience working with testing agencies, certification bodies, and government authorities for homologation and compliance activities.
- Technical background in mechanical, automotive, or related engineering disciplines, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in documentation management, report writing, and preparing technical files and compliance dossiers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in regulatory and technical work.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and external partners.
- Ability to work on-site in Kolhapur, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; prior experience in homologation or automotive compliance is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with international markets and regulations is an advantage, as is experience in the motorcycle industry.
