Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Ahmedabad for a Home Automation Support Engineer (IoT, KNX & Linux). The person in this role will provide end-to-end technical support for Cue Home installations, including configuring and maintaining home automation systems, integrating IoT devices, and working with KNX and Linux-based controllers. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing and resolving system issues, monitoring performance, performing remote and on-site troubleshooting, and coordinating with the engineering and product teams to escalate complex cases. The role also involves assisting integrators and end users, guiding them through setup and usage, documenting solutions and standard operating procedures, and contributing to continuous improvement of support tools and processes. The engineer will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, secure, and future-ready smart home deployments.
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving abilities with hands-on experience in Troubleshooting and Technical Support for hardware, networking, and software-based home automation or IoT systems.
- Proficiency in Customer Support and Customer Service, including clear communication, empathy, and the ability to translate technical concepts into simple, actionable guidance.
- Working knowledge of Operating Systems, especially Linux, with the ability to perform basic administration, configuration, and log analysis.
- Familiarity with IoT protocols and standards (e.g., KNX, MQTT, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi), and an understanding of home automation platforms or BMS systems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, wiring layouts, and network topologies; experience with basic electrical or low-voltage systems is an advantage.
- Effective collaboration skills, with the ability to work on-site with integrators, partners, and internal teams in a structured and process-driven manner.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical
