Senior Backend Engineer

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team. If you want to help us make self-employment a little easier, Holvi is for you. We founded Holvi in 2011 in Helsinki. As self-employed people wading through oceans of paperwork, we noticed something funny going on – traditional banks were giving us the cold shoulder. Why not help ourselves? We asked. And so, with time and effort (and lots of coffee), we mastered small business finance – and Holvi was born. Right now, we're looking for a full-time Senior Backend Engineer to join our team, either in Helsinki or remotely from Finland, Germany, or Spain. Our culture is built on respect and low hierarchy. We have a holistic view on development, where all our developers play an essential role in decision making. You'll be working across the entire Holvi product As a Senior Backend Engineer at Holvi, you'll be crafting the future or our product as part of a design-driven team. You'll work closely with Engineering, Product, Marketing and Creative to help develop a world-class experience for our customers. This is for you if you: - have more than three years of experience as a software engineer (we use Python) - like to write readable, maintainable code and design reliable, performant solutions - can refine requirements in an iterative and collaborative manner - are comfortable owning your tasks and pushing them forward - know how to communicate clearly, in plain language - are fluent in English, both spoken and written It's a plus if you: - have experience working in a large codebase - are familiar with cloud (AWS) and containerisation technologies (Docker), test automation tools and CI/CD pipelines - have a background in web development and API integrations - have a good understanding of relational databases and data modelling in general - have experience working in a fintech company or in the financial sector Think you're a good fit?
