Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Student Information Systems

Position Summary
The Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Data Systems provides districtwide leadership in the design, implementation, and monitoring of all student assessment programs, state and federal accountability requirements, and data management systems. The Director serves as the district's primary liaison to the Mississippi Department of Education (MDE) for assessment and accountability matters and is a direct report to the Assistant Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration, security, and reporting of all state and district assessments, and any district-selected benchmark or diagnostic tools.
- Develop and implement assessment calendars, testing protocols, and training for school test coordinators.
- Ensure compliance with all MDE testing regulations, security procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Analyze assessment vendor options and support the selection, implementation, and monitoring of districtwide assessment platforms.
- Monitor and interpret Mississippi accountability policies, including school and district accountability models, growth metrics, subgroup performance, and federal requirements.
- Provide clear, timely communication to district and school leaders regarding accountability status, performance trends, and implications for school improvement.
- Support schools in understanding accountability indicators and developing strategies to improve ratings.
- Manage the district's data systems, including student information systems (MSIS), assessment platforms, and data dashboards.
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and timely submission of state and federal reports.
- Develop user-friendly data tools, reports, and visualizations to support instructional planning, progress monitoring, and strategic decision-making.
- Lead districtwide data analysis efforts, including trend analysis, cohort tracking, early warning indicators, and predictive analytics.
- Provide principals, instructional coaches, and teachers with actionable data insights to support instructional planning and intervention.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mississippi 486 Administrator License
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership, Curriculum & Instruction, Assessment, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in assessment, accountability, or data management.
- Strong knowledge of Mississippi accountability models, state testing programs, and federal reporting requirements.
- Proficiency with student information systems, assessment platforms, and data analysis tools.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and communicate findings clearly to diverse audiences.
- Strong organizational, project-management, and problem-solving skills.
Contract and Salary
- 230 Days per year
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications and consistent with district administrative salary schedules
