Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad Area for a Head of Department (HOD) for B.Sc. (Hons) degree programs and three Assistant Professors. The HOD will oversee academic planning, curriculum development, and quality assurance for B.Sc. (Hons) programs; coordinate teaching schedules; mentor faculty; and ensure alignment with university and regulatory standards. The HOD will also lead program evaluation, support accreditation processes, collaborate on industry partnerships, and guide academic innovations that complement online and blended learning initiatives. Assistant Professors will deliver lectures, conduct tutorials and practical sessions, develop course materials, assess student performance, and support students through advising and mentoring. All team members will participate in academic administration, contribute to research and scholarly activities, and engage in continuous improvement of teaching and learning practices.
Qualifications
- Strong academic background in a relevant discipline with a minimum of a master’s degree; a doctorate (PhD) is preferred for the HOD role.
- Demonstrated experience in academic leadership, program coordination, or department management for the HOD; prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level for Assistant Professors.
- Proficiency in curriculum design, outcome-based education, and use of modern pedagogical methods, including online and blended learning tools.
- Ability to develop engaging course content and assessments, guide students effectively, and maintain high academic and ethical standards.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to work in a multidisciplinary, learner-centric environment.
- Experience with accreditation processes, academic quality assurance, and familiarity with UGC and other regulatory guidelines is an advantage.
- Evidence of research activity, publications, or professional contributions in the relevant field is highly desirable.
