Role Description The HMI Developers - Architect/Leads/Developers role is a full-time, on-site position based in Coimbatore. Team members will design, develop, and maintain Human-Machine Interface (HMI) solutions for automotive and embedded applications, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
1. Qualifications:
a) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related discipline.
b) 3 to 20 years of experience in Automotive HMI Software Development.
c) Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Object-Oriented Programming.
d) Hands-on experience with embedded operating systems such as Linux, Android, and Open RTOS.
e) Experience in HMI development using Qt/QML, OpenGL/Vulkan, OpenCV, and related graphics frameworks.
f) Good understanding of automotive communication protocols and middleware.
g) Knowledge of software development lifecycle, version control (Git), and CI/CD tools.
h) Familiarity with automotive standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, and MISRA C/C++.
i) Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
2. Roles & Responsibilities:
a) Develop and implement Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications for Instrument Clusters, Infotainment Systems, and Head-Up Displays (HUD).
b) Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate wireframes, prototypes, and graphical assets into interactive HMI applications.
c) Integrate HMI software with embedded platforms, middleware, and vehicle electronic systems.
d) Develop and maintain HMI applications on Linux, Android, and Open RTOS platforms.
e) Design and optimize graphical user interfaces using Qt/QML, OpenGL/Vulkan, OpenCV, and other relevant technologies.
f) Optimize HMI performance for responsiveness, memory utilization, and real-time execution.
g) Ensure compliance with automotive development processes and standards, including ISO 26262, ASPICE, and MISRA.
h) Work closely with cross-functional teams including System Engineering, UX/UI, Hardware, Software, Validation, and Program Management.
i) Debug, test, validate, and troubleshoot HMI applications in simulation and target vehicle environments.
j) Participate in code reviews, version control, build management, and CI/CD activities to ensure software quality.
k) Support system integration, defect analysis, and issue resolution throughout the product development lifecycle.
l) Stay updated with emerging automotive technologies, including Digital Cockpit, Connected Vehicles, ADAS, AI/ML-based HMI, Voice Assistants, Gesture Control, and Augmented Reality (AR).
m) Prepare and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and development artifacts as per organizational and customer requirements.
