Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Hiring Carrier Counselor role based in Ahmedabad, working primarily on the night shift. The Hiring Carrier Counselor will support healthcare revenue cycle operations by coordinating with insurance carriers, verifying coverage details, and helping resolve reimbursement and claim-related queries. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing patient and carrier information, documenting interactions in designated systems, following established processes to address denials or issues, and escalating complex cases to senior team members as needed. The role involves frequent communication via phone and email with carriers and internal teams, adherence to quality and productivity targets, and compliance with company policies and healthcare privacy regulations. The counselor is expected to maintain accurate records, contribute to process improvement, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely resolution of carrier-related matters.
Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including clear spoken and written English for interacting with carriers and internal teams.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in reviewing data, documenting interactions, and following standard operating procedures.
- Basic understanding of healthcare billing, insurance processes, or revenue cycle concepts, with willingness to learn and apply guidelines.
- Comfort working night shifts in an on-site environment in Ahmedabad, with reliability in attendance and time management.
- Proficiency with computer applications, including data entry, email, and basic use of office productivity software and internal systems.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and adhere to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
- Prior experience in healthcare, BPO, or customer service environments is an advantage.
- Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma or equivalent; a graduate degree in any discipline is preferred.
