Principal Consultant - Power BI

seeking a Power BI Developer with strong expertise in database technologies to design, develop, and implement business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will possess advanced Power BI skills along with hands-on experience in database design, development, and optimization. This role involves working with large datasets, ensuring data integrity, and creating impactful dashboards and reports to support business decision-making. Requirements Power BI Expertise: o Proficient in Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Mobile. o Advanced knowledge of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query (M Language). o Expertise in creating custom visuals, slicers, and drill-through reports. o Knowledge of ETL tools and processes. o Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and cloud platforms like Azure Data Factory or AWS. o Ability to work with APIs and other third-party tools for data integration. Database Knowledge: o Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL). o Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database scripts. o Strong understanding of data modeling concepts (e.g., star schema, snowflake schema). o Experience with indexing, query tuning, and database optimization techniques. o ETL and Data Integration: o Experience with ETL tools (e.g., SSIS, Azure Data Factory, Informatics). o Knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, or GCP for data storage and processing. o Ability to work with APIs, JSON, and flat files for data extraction. o Other Tools & Technologies: o Knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics, Data bricks, or other big data platforms. o Familiarity with Python or R for data analysis (optional but preferred). o Advanced Excel skills, including VBA (preferred). QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in computer science / related engineering field OR equivalent experience In a related field 5+ years of software development experience 3+ years' experience developing reports in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Power BI Experience with building data pipelines Possess the ability to understand business processes and design reports. Good written, verbal communication skills Great team player
