About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer (SDE2) to join our Calendar Integrations team. This role is pivotal in reducing technical debt while ensuring the stability and scalability of our systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance, improve legacy systems, and implement best practices. You will spearhead initiatives to optimise integrations, APIs, and distributed systems for a robust and future-proof platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to reduce technical debt without disrupting business operations
- Design and optimise APIs to enhance functionality and performance
- Develop and implement strategies for performance monitoring and system observability
- Drive database optimization efforts and ensure adherence to security best practices
- Collaborate across teams to execute technical initiatives that improve system scalability and maintainability
- Mentor and guide developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
- Analyze and improve legacy systems, ensuring minimal impact on current workflows
- Apply a data-driven approach to make informed technical decisions
Requirements:
- Expertise in backend design and architecture
- Strong knowledge of API design patterns
- Proven experience with database optimisation techniques
- In-depth understanding of security best practices in software development
- Proficiency in performance optimisation for distributed systems
- Demonstrated expertise in designing and optimising APIs
