Inclusive and equitable recruitment, hiring, and retention practices are crucial to fulfilling the academic missions of our member institutions. In addition to fulfilling our growing workforce development needs, having faculty and staff with different backgrounds and perspectives can lead to innovative solutions, better decision-making, and healthy workforce retention. We believe an inclusive higher education workforce depends on systemic change best achieved through institutional collaboration, the development of innovative tools that can be shared and leveraged, and an engaged network of committed professionals.

HERC is a nonprofit consortium of higher education institutions, hospitals, labs, and affiliated employers united by a shared commitment to cultivating and retaining a talented and thriving workforce. Institutions can post jobs on HERC Jobs (job board) or join HERC with an annual membership in one of our regional chapters and receive exclusive benefits.
