Your Role And Responsibilities
As a Hardware Developer for Cognitive Systems and IBM Z, you will be responsible for developing test architectures, drivers, and checkers to test and verify designs used in these systems. This role involves using logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate that the hardware design under verification functions according to specifications. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop Test Architectures: Design and develop test architectures, drivers, and checkers using the latest technology to test and verify designs used in Cognitive Systems and IBM Z.
- Perform Validation Tests: Conduct validation tests or build the tools required to perform verification tests, applying Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and knowledge of Engineering Principles.
- Integrate Products: Integrate products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills.
- Collaborate with Partners: Work with industry partners and/or customers on product scope, including Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products.
- Apply Verification Techniques: Use logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate hardware design under verification functions according to specifications.
Preferred Education
Master's Degree
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Exposure to Test Development: Experience working with test architectures, drivers, and checkers for hardware design verification, using the latest technology.
- Verification Techniques Knowledge: Familiarity with logic simulation or formal verification techniques to validate hardware design under verification functions according to specifications.
- Product Integration Skills: Exposure to integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O, requiring networking and Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills.
- Networking Product Knowledge: Experience working with Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products, including early bring-up and functional integration test of Input/Output (I/O) networking adapters, network switches, or devices.
- Engineering Principles Application: Ability to apply Random/Deterministic Verification Principles and knowledge of Engineering Principles to perform validation tests or build verification test tools.
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Networking Product Knowledge: Experience working with Ethernet, Fiber Channel, or Infiniband networking products is beneficial, particularly in early bring-up and functional integration test of Input/Output (I/O) networking adapters, network switches, or devices.
- Industry Partner Collaboration: Exposure to working with industry partners and/or customers on product scope, including integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O, is advantageous.
- PCI Business Debug Skills: Familiarity with Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) business debug skills is desirable, especially when integrating products from industry-leading suppliers of I/O.
