Social Studies Teacher (History/Civics & Geography) – Grades 6 to 10
Paramjyoti School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and dynamic Social Studies Teacher to join our academic team. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching History/Civics and Geography to students from Grades 6 to 10, with a strong focus on preparing students of Grades 9 and 10 for the ICSE Board Examination.
We are looking for an educator who can inspire curiosity, encourage analytical thinking, and create an engaging classroom environment that promotes academic excellence and holistic learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver well-structured, engaging, and student-centric lessons in History/Civics and Geography.
- Effectively teach Social Studies concepts across Grades 6 to 10 in alignment with the ICSE curriculum.
- Prepare students thoroughly for the ICSE Board Examination through focused academic support, revision strategies, and assessment planning.
- Develop lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, projects, and assessment tools that enhance conceptual understanding.
- Foster a positive, disciplined, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages participation and critical thinking.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Identify learning gaps and provide remedial support wherever necessary.
- Participate actively in school activities, meetings, training programs, and collaborative planning sessions with colleagues.
- Maintain accurate academic records and uphold school policies and professional standards.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Geography, Social Sciences, Education, or a related field.
- B.Ed. Qualification is mandatory.
- Prior teaching experience in ICSE schools will be highly preferred.
- Strong command over History/Civics and Geography for middle and secondary school levels.
- Familiarity with ICSE Board Examination patterns, expectations, and evaluation methods.
- Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for teaching and mentoring adolescents.
