Job Requirement: Temporary Warehouse Associate

Position: General Labor / Asset Assessment Specialist

Location: Sunbury, PA 17801 (Non-Climate Controlled Warehouse)

Assignment Duration: February 16th – March 9th (Short-Term)


Position Overview

Hickory Farms LLC is seeking detail-oriented and physically capable individuals for a short-term assignment to assist with the assessment and organization of retail assets. This role is primarily focused on the inventory and evaluation of kiosk components and off-mall fixture assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records in a fast-paced warehouse setting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Asset Assessment: Inspect and assess the condition of various kiosk and off-mall fixture assets.
  • Inventory & Counting: Perform precise counts of parts and equipment; identify and document discrepancies.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and organized logs of asset conditions and inventory levels.
  • Material Handling: Assist with moving heavy equipment and fixtures using provided equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, dollies).
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Ensure the workspace remains organized and safe for all team members.
  • Multitasking: Manage multiple assessment tasks simultaneously while meeting daily targets.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in counting and documentation is critical.
  • Physical Ability: Must be able to perform heavy lifting with equipment assistance and stand/walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Environment Adaptability: Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment (subject to temperature fluctuations).
  • Organizational Skills: Proven ability to keep track of multiple items and maintain a clean workspace.
  • Reliability:  Commitment to the full duration of the short-term assignment.

Physical Requirements: 

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards. 
  • Must be able to complete the “essential job functions” with “reasonable accommodations” and meet all the mandatory qualifications under the ADA guidelines. 
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to perform essential physical activities such as lifting, climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
  • Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the telephone. 

Schedule & Compensation

  • Pay Rate: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience).
  • Days: Monday – Thursday (with occasional Fridays as required).
  • Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Duration: February 16, 2025, through March 9, 2025.

About the company

Hickory Farms, LLC is an American food gift retailer with headquarters in Chicago. Richard Ransom established the company in 1951 when he began selling handcrafted cheese at local fairs. By 1959, the company added summer sausage and opened its first retail store in Maumee, Ohio. By 1981, it operated over 1,000 Hickory Farms stores and seasonal kiosks open in the United States and Canada.
